This is just one of several attempts to get our relatively small family to all look at the camera at the same time. Braden, our two-year-old grandson, was trying to hang on to four trucks and wasn’t entirely comfortable in Granddad’s lap. Tenley, our granddaughter born on Nov. 17, slept through the entire process. Meanwhile, the rest of us were giving each other instructions while everyone focused on trying to get Braden to look up at the camera. Life’s like that… A mixture of joy, near-misses, high hopes and sometimes, disappointment. I wish you nothing but love and happiness this Christmas. With all the anger and bitterness and pain in our world, it’s nice to see, if only for a moment, many who celebrate the arrival of God in the form of the infant Christ. Tenley’s restful pose reminds me of the line from “O, Holy Night” … “His law is love and His gospel is peace.” May it be so, especially this Christmas.
